When our son was 4, he was still not sure when he was allowed to get up and come and see us. We used to have an alarm clock set so he could hear it from his room and know it was okay to come in, but this woke us up and sometimes he would be certain he had heard it even though it was 5am and start shouting from his room 'Has the alarm gone off?' We have solved this dilemma with the genius Gro Clock.
You simply set the time at which the sun should come up, then at bed time, press a button and the star appears with 12 smaller stars. As time passes, one star at a time disappears until at getting up time, there is a small sunrise and the yellow sun comes up. This is all done silently so on the rare occasion your child sleeps in, they won't be woken up. There are different brightness settings for the nighttime mode, so you can tailor it to suit your child's needs, and an additional daytime nap feature means you don't have to keep resetting the clock according to your circumstances.
For longevity, you can enable a digital clock and/or alarm, so as your child grows, they can still use their clock. There is also a children's bedtime storybook included about a tired pig called 'Sleepy Farm' that you can read in conjunction with the clock during your bedtime routine.
